Dream Journal – or, I Have a Dream – is a series of bizarre dreams I had in the span of a fortnight which I texted to my friends. Although I often see these vivid and crazy dreams that confuse me when I wake up, I never dived deeper into it or tried to find a connection between them and my reality. But with this series, I acknowledged that whenever I feel untethered within myself, my subconscious paints dreams with careless, reckless abandon – going from sweet and innocent to becoming overwhelmed with darker emotions. I envisioned Dream Journal (I Have a Dream) as a coming-of-age piece, where I shed my child-like wonder and idealization to embrace new realities while being confronted with, and navigating, an unbridled sense of loss, feelings of being a misfit and the general anxieties of a 20-something.
