Publishing a Zine for TSPTR on the Theme of Activism

Formative University Second Year
January 2021-22

The brief was to create, publish and exhibit a printed and digital zine to connect with and grow TSPTR’s younger female audience using an activism-related theme. My role was to conduct research around the role of activism and its impact on the brand. I created mood boards called ‘Activism throughout the years’ and ‘Activism through art’.

The group unanimously decided to focus on Women’s Safety for the zine.

My concept was called ‘Red Riot’. It was inspired by the frustrating anger women feel and how tiring the safety precautions women take is. I chose the colour red because it is an extremely passionate yet dangerous colour. It could signify sensuality, but also rage. The concept was an attempt to take back the control over our bodies.

To further spread awareness about how street harassment frustrates and traumatizes women I created illustrations using impactful one-liners. They were created keeping in mind the potential to be used to tie the brand TSPTR and the theme together.
